Guide for Authors

1- Manuscript types

Polymer Insights encourages authors to submit manuscripts of any length, as long as the text is presented concisely and comprehensively. Polymer Insights journal publishes two types of papers: Article and Review.

  • Original Article

Articles should present their subject matter with thoroughness, clarity, and conciseness. The manuscript should effectively communicate the significance and impact of the research while maintaining brevity.

Article Abstracts are limited to 250 words and should concisely summarize the significant results and conclusions of the research. Articles are typically scheduled for publication in the order of acceptance, subject to space availability.

  • Review

The comprehensive reviews should provide a concise yet insightful overview of recent advancements in key materials or interfacial research areas for a broad audience of polymer scientists and engineers. Written by leading experts in the field, reviews aim to inform and educate readers on the latest developments while maintaining a balanced and objective perspective. Reviews undergo the same rigorous peer-review process as research Articles.

2- Manuscript Preparation

Polymer Insights journal has streamlined its formatting requirements for initial manuscript submissions to simplify the submission process for authors. Manuscripts should be free of annotations or highlights and include all numbered and labeled components (figures, tables, schemes, equations). Submissions are required to be in single-column, double-spaced Word format and include all required sections:

    Title

    Authors' Names and Affiliations

    Abstract

    Keywords

    Graphical abstract

    Introduction

    Experimental

    Results and Discussion

    Conclusion

    References

    Supporting Information

Title:

The title should be concise, accurately reflect the manuscript's content, and include relevant keywords.

Authors' Names and Affiliations:

Provide the full given name(s) and surname(s) of each author, ensuring accurate spelling. List the complete institutional affiliations, including department, city, and country, immediately below the author names. Designate the corresponding author(s) with an asterisk (*) and include their email address on the first page.

Abstract:

The abstract, limited to 250 words, should be a single, concise paragraph summarizing the article's scope, objectives, and major topics.

Keywords:

Include 4-6 relevant keywords.

Graphical Abstract:

A graphical abstract is mandatory. It should visually summarize the article's content for online readership. Submit as a separate file, with a minimum resolution of 531 × 1328 pixels (height × width), ensuring legibility at 5 × 13 cm.

Introduction:

The introduction should clearly state the article's purpose, scope, and limitations, typically within 1-2 manuscript pages. Include relevant historical context, and references to prior reviews.

Experimental:

Provide sufficient detail to allow replication of the experimental work. Include clear descriptions of sampling procedures, experimental design, sample characteristics, statistical methods, and references. Emphasize any significant hazards or risks.

Results and Discussion:

The Results section should present the study's findings concisely, using tables or figures as appropriate. The Discussion should interpret the results in relation to existing literature. Use SI units and symbols.

Tables:

Tables must be embedded within the text, not submitted as images, and should adhere to a clear, rational structure with consecutive numbering (1, 2, 3, etc.). Avoid using internal horizontal or vertical rules. Each table requires a comprehensive caption positioned above each table, providing sufficient detail for independent understanding. Captions should explain table components and cite any previously published data. Footnotes, indicated by superscript lowercase letters or asterisks (for statistical data), should be placed below the table body.

Figures:

Embed high-quality figures (200-300 dpi) within the text. Figures should be clear, labeled, and legible. Provide concise captions below each figure, beginning with "Figure.". Identify all figure elements and cite previously published material.

Figures, charts, and tables should be embedded within the text at their point of relevance for initial submission. Separate high-resolution files of these graphics may be submitted later during the revision process.

Conclusion:

Highlight the major findings and their significance, without literature references.

References:

References must be complete, including titles, and cited within the text and listed numerically at the end of the manuscript.

Kindly use the ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces style for cited references.

Supporting Information:

Supporting Information must be submitted as a separate file(s).

3- Cover Letter

A cover letter is required for all manuscript submissions. You can easily include your cover letter during the online submission process by typing it directly into the designated field or attaching a separate document.

The cover letter must include a concise statement explaining the significance of your research and its suitability for publication in Polymer Insights. Clearly articulate the novel aspects and key findings of your work. Additionally, the cover letter must confirm that the manuscript is original and has not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Finally, include a description of any Supporting Information, such as supplementary data or videos, that accompany the manuscript.

4- Proofreading and Copyright Information

The corresponding author is required to submit the copyright form and galley proof through the online system. To expedite publication, please upload all corrections and the signed copyright form within 72 hours. The accuracy of the proofreading is solely the responsibility of the author.
